Holiday Party 2015

Oholiday_party2ur Christmas party reminded me of the family parties when I was young and we gathered around an old fashioned round oak dining room table to talk, share, exchange gifts and, of course, eat yummy special food. The tables at the Tigard Senior Center are square, not round, but the feeling of friendship was much the same as we chatted, knitted, ate and generally had a good time.
A Sharing Table held yarn donated by a member who is downsizing, so several members went home with stash enhancements as well as a selection from the gift table. In addition to regular Show and Tell we all displayed our gifts from the present exchange. Books and notion bags were popular this year.
Just a couple of highlights: Jung pretending to be Oprah by flinging Burberry cowls to the crowd. Don’t we all know that feeling of finding a pattern we just love and knitting it 10 times in a row? Oh, yes, yes I do. The green chili casserole. Please, whoever brought it, send me the recipe. – Dee Ann
